Jade Family Farm is owned and operated by John and Dana Eisenstein, together with our
two children, near Port Royal, Pennsylvania. We raise certified organic vegetables and small fruits on our farm nestled
up against the Tuscarora Mountain. We started farming here in 2005. Neither of us come from a farming background, but
were drawn to it by our passion for good eating and our belief that wholesome, nutritious food is the birthright of all
people. We believe that human health starts with soil health and strive to maintain a balanced, diverse and thriving
ecosystem above and below ground.
We like going to market because of the personal interactions with our customers and because
we know that by going to market ourselves, our vegetables are delivered fresh and beautiful. John grew up in the State College
area, and so going to market is also a sort of homecoming for him, although few of his high school classmates would have guessed
that the nerdy, intellectual kid they knew would go on to a career in dirt.
