Tamarack Farm Sheep and Wool

Tamarack Farm Sheep & Wool offers pasture-raised lamb and lamb sausage from our Icelandic breed sheep. We also sell washable lamb pelts in a variety of colors, yarn, both natural colored and hand-dyed, wool jewelry, roving, raw fleeces, needle-felted wool objects, and other wool end products. In addition, we market fresh multicolored eggs from our free-range chickens (including icelandic, auricana, barred rock, silver-spangled hamburg, egyptian, buff orpington, black giant, and other chicken breeds), and a large variety of greens (usually triple-washed!) raised using sustainable methods (mesclun, lettuce mixes, spicy greens, spinach, kale, beet greens, turnip greens, arugula, bright lights chard, escarole and endive, among others). We also carry a variety of seasonal produce (tomatoes, peppers, summer and winter squash), select cut flowers, herbs, vegetable and herb plants.

Jan Jenkins and Michael Arthur of Tamarack Farm, Spring Mills, PA, have raised merino, icelandic, and some tunis sheep for wool, breeding stock, and meat for the past 15 years. We are well-known breeders of icelandic sheep. Our flock now numbers up to 120 in the summer, and gets the best of care from Jan, the shepherd. Our daughters, Paige and Tess, also help with sheep care and have participated in numerous 4-H projects. We have participated in local farmers markets for the past five years, and, when supply allows, provide lamb cuts to some local restaurants.

Come see us at the farmers market. We'd love to talk with you about our products and procedures.
